HBO's " Boardwalk Empire" is the SH*T! I Love this scene with Gyp Rosetti (played by Bobby Cannavale). "Everybody got guns!"
Now, don't get me wrong, I like guns; I like the look, the feel of the cold steel, the sound of a
cocking shotgun, the smell of gunpowder in the morning on the rifle range, the echo of a
rifle firing, the sense of power... The thing is though, I don't think that access to weapons, that were created for the sole purpose of killing someone, should be accessible by just about anyone.
The assault rifle has no place amongst civilians. It should be reserved for those serving in
defense of this nation, to include "a well regulated militia," Not a bunch of guys trying to
compensate for "shortfalls."

Let's face it, you don't go hunting with an assault rifle nor is
your house being overrun like in "Scarface." The assault rifle is to make you feel better
about yourself. You see pictures in magazines and you say "I wanna look like that, and
receive the feeling of awesomeness that I feel towards the person in the picture. I want to
be intimidating so that no one will ever think that they can get one over on me." I can
understand that sense of self, hell, I feel the same way at times too.

People die by gun violence everyday. It's not an "either-or" solution." It's one of compromise. Tougher screenings for gun purchases, to include the mental health of the individual. If not a ban on
all assault rifles, then certain ones, and limit the magazine capacity. Responsible gun
owners should be fine. It's the people with something to prove or not qualified to have
firearms that get all upset. These are the ones that either say their going to do something,
encourage others to do that something, or follow through and actually do something that
puts this whole "gun thing" into question. The cycle just repeats itself.
